What Colors Look Good On Me?
Understanding Your Skin Tone
When it comes to figuring out what colors look best on you, the most important thing is understanding your skin tone. Everyone has a unique skin tone, so it’s important to know yours before deciding on colors.
Your skin tone can be divided into three categories: warm, cool, and neutral. Warm skin tones have yellow or golden undertones, cool skin tones have pink or blue undertones, and neutral skin tones have a mix of both.
Determining Your Skin Tone
The best way to determine your skin tone is to look at the veins on your wrist. If they’re green, you have a warm skin tone; if they’re blue, you have a cool skin tone; and if they’re both, you have a neutral skin tone.
You can also try draping different colors of fabric against your skin. If you look better in warm colors like yellow, orange, and red, you probably have a warm skin tone. If you look better in cool colors like blue, green, and purple, you probably have a cool skin tone.
Choosing Colors That Look Good on You
Once you’ve determined your skin tone, you can start choosing colors that flatter you. For warm skin tones, look for colors like gold, peach, rust, and olive. For cool skin tones, look for colors like lavender, navy, pink, and emerald. Neutral skin tones look good in both warm and cool colors.
You can also experiment with different shades of the same color. For example, if you have a warm skin tone, try wearing different shades of yellow, from light to dark. You can also mix and match colors for a more unique look.
